Eagle Hunting is a very unique hunting method and it has a very deep history. Do you know that People in Mongolia still use eagle hunting? Of course, this unique traditional hunting method is passed from father to son and, eagles are trained to catch the prey from the ancient past. Leo Thomas is a German photographer and, he had the chance to explore the lives of these hunters and capture some awesome pictures of them when he visited the Alta region in Western Mongolia.

#1. The Life of Traditional Mongolian Eagle Hunters Snapped by Leo Thoms

There are about 300 eagle hunters left in the Alta region in Western Mongolia and, most of them are males. Leo had a chance to meet “Zamanbol”, one of the 10 female hunters that remain. Zamanbol is still schooling and trains her eagle with her brother “Barzabi” every weekend. They belong to the “Kazakh Nomad” family. Zamanbol’s brother is 26-year-old and, the photographer “Leo” is also at the same age. According to Leo, though he spends his free time in front of a screen, this young fellow enjoys his life with the family and environment.
