Giethoorn is a Dutch tourist destination town located in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. This charming village is very popular and, is referred to as Venice of the Netherlands. The total population of Giethoorn is around 2795 and, the only possible transport is by boat via these amazing waterways.

This village became famous after 1958 when the famous Dutch filmmaker made one of his famous comedy Fanfare here in this beautiful village. This picture-perfect village is in the middle of the beautiful nature reserve called Weeribben-Wieden National Park.

All of the houses are made entirely of wood and bridges are the only way to reach them. So it has more than 180 bridges, that criss-cross over these beautiful canals run through the village. Normally the cars are parked outside this beautiful village. Giethoorn is a popular ice skating destination. So during the winter season, you can skate on these beautiful canals and waterways but the winter at Giethoorn is extremely cold.
